We regret to have to report the death of Mona Howells, mother of Val Watts and mother-in-law of Mike Watts.

Mona lived all of her adult life in Birchgrove, Swansea. She was a real lady and much loved by everyone who knew her. She will be sadly missed.

Funeral took place at Morriston Crematorium on Friday 3rd February

I regret to have to report the death of Ex.P.C.138 David WARD of 90 Grove Road, Bridgend. He leaves a wife, Fay.

David served in the force between 1964-1975 and worked in the Aberdare and Neath Traffic areas. Although not completing the usual term of service with the police, he was a regular attender at Leaving Do's subsequent to his service.

Funeral took place at Margam Crematorium on Wed 1st February.

It is with the deepest regret that I have to announce the death overnight of the former Branch Secretary, Mr. Derrick RASTIN of 25, West Road, Bridgend. He leaves a widow, Elizabeth, son Mark and daughter Vanessa.

Derrick served the Glamorgan Branch as Secretary for over 14 years until he retired due to ill health. Derrick's entry on the Branch's computer (which he himself prepared) reads as follows:

"Derrick Maynard Ex. Inspector.Retired May 1982. Served in Whitchurch, Pontypridd, Llantrisant, Tonyrefail, Police Headquarters(Finance), Barry, Police H.Q.(Operations Dept) and last five years of service as Secretary S.W.Police Social Club and General Secretary S.W.Police Athletic Club. Appointed Branch Secretary April 1997. Retired as Branch Secretary 1/1/12 and remains on committee".

He will be sorely missed by all members of the Branch Committee who had the pleasure of working with him.

Funeral was held at Coychurch Crematorium on Monday, 30th January.

Following the service, family, friends and former colleagues were invited to meet at The Haywayne, Coychurch Road, Brackla Bridgend.

I regret to have to announce to members the death on Sunday, 8th January, 2012 of Mrs. Dorothy Morgan of 30 Rhiwbina Hill, Rhiwbina, Cardiff CF14 6UN. Mrs Morgan was the widow of Ex-P.S.802 Tom Morgan (fondly known as Tommy Trill and The Bishop by family and colleagues), who worked Aberdare/ Traffic areas during his working life until he retired in 1976.

Funeral took place on Saturday, 14th January, 2012 at Coychurch Crematorium, followed by Tea and Coffee at Gilad’s Chapel Hall, Heol Spencer, Coity.

This was followed by a Thanksgiving Service at St. Mark's Parish Church, North Road, Gabalfa, Cardiff, followed by Tea and Coffee.

Family flowers only please. Donations en lue of any flowers to Barrents Acre, Dartmore via family member or undertaker.

Dear All,

We regret to have to report the death on the 5th January, 2012 of Ex-PS. 898 Elwyn Evans of 23, St Mary's View, Coychurch, Bridgend. CF35 5HL

During his working life he worked in the Rhondda area/Traffic/ Traffic Admin and Driving School. He was a member of the SWP Choir for a number of years.

He was a widower with two sons.

Funeral was held on Tuesday 17th January at Coychurch Crematorium.

Dear All,

The funeral of our late colleague retired Inspector Dennis Leach took place on Friday 13th January 2012. A short service was held at the Chapel of Rest, Les Davies' Undertakers, Cadoxton, Neath followed by the main service at at Margam Crematorium.

We are sorry to report the untimely death of one of our members - Kerry Lewis - Ex Detective Constable in Swansea and RCS.

Kerry, aged 56 was found dead yesterday, (3rd January) at his current abode in Southgate.

Funeral took place on Thursday, 19th January at Swansea Crematorium.
